Breastfeeding is one of the biggest challenges that a woman faces after delivery. There is only so much advice that one can give a mother as every mother and every baby is different. But I’m extremely glad that my friends told me to buy a couple of nursing bras during pregnancy which could be used later. After delivery, once the size stabilises, you can buy more. A great feeding bra goes a long way to make a breastfeeding mother comfortable and prevent sagging breasts.
Cake Nursing Bras
I love them ! Their designs are great and they fit very well too. They come in underwired as well as padded and non wired. A word of caution though, many believe that underwired bras are not good for lactating mothers as it can interfere with blood flow and milk production.
Cantaloop Breastfeeding Bras
[ Available at Amazon ] – I have been using these since the third trimester of my pregnancy and continued to do so three months after delivery. They are great if you’re looking for comfortable, breathable bras. You don’t need to change these as your bra size increases and decreases as they adapt to these changing sizes. The problem however, is that they cannot stop your breasts from sagging as the fabric is too stretchy for that. If you have been endowed with large bosoms, I dont think anything can save you.

Nursing Bras by NEXT
NEXT is a British brand that had opened stores in India but has now shut operation. They however, continue to ship to India with extra shipping charges and duty might also apply depending on the bill. The nursing bras by NEXT are basic but have great fit. They are worth spending on if getting from UK through a friend but the shipping and duty makes it very pricy.
Bras from Bare Necessities
Again, pricey but great. You will have to pay extra for shipping and duty.
Mothercare Feeding Bras
A special mention to their Hotmilk nursing bras. As the name suggests, they are ‘hot’ nursing bras and will definitely make you feel sexy if you’re ready to the price for it ! For basic nursing bras, go for Blooming Marvellous and for flexible sizing pick up a couple from their ‘Belly Bandit’ brand which is similar in fabric and fit as Cantaloop but come with padding. You might or might not prefer that given that your assets are already a couple of sizes bigger that before.

Penny Cotton Nursing Bras by Zivame
Penny is Zivame’s inhouse brand. They are specialists in lingerie so it comes as no surprise that their fabric and fit is great. The price makes them worth buying too. The only downside is that they are too basic for my taste.
[ Available at Shopper’s Stop and online stores like Amazon and Snapdeal ] Triumph launches a couple of nursing bra designs every season. You will have to try them for fit but the fabric is always soft and holds well.
[ Also available on Zivame, Amazon and Snapdeal ] – These are made of super soft, antimicrobial fabric and have good fit. I would definitely recommend you to give these a try. They come in several designs, choose what fits you the best.
Nursing Bras by Nine Maternity wear
They always get mixed reviews. Some like the fit, others don’t. You will have to try these to figure out if they are meant for you. Not worth the price though. Buy only on sale. Don’t even bother with their sleep bras.
They have some interesting designs and one of the few brands in India that offer underwired and padded nursing bras. They usually have a design with buttoned flaps that open from the centre (something like front opening bras). Clovia feeding bras will work better for mothers with smaller bosoms.
