For the topping:
  1. Cream butter and brown sugar together.
  2. Spread on bottom of a 9X6 inches tin.
  3. Arrange well drained pineapple slices on this and fill centres with glazed cherries.
For the Cake:
  1. Sift flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon together.
  2. Cream butter and sugar together till light and fluffy.
  3. Gradually add beaten eggs to the creamed mixture.
  4. Fold in the sifted flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon mixture alternately with milk.
  5. Bake at 180 degrees for 40-50 minutes.
  6. When done, leave it to cool for 5 – 10 minutes.
  7. Turn it out upside down on a wire rack.
  8. Decorate with blanched almonds or walnuts.
  9. Serve warm or cold !
