Mom & Mi twinned in Grey on Mi’s Second Birthday
My baby turned two years old and we selected a beautiful sequined silver grey party dress for her. The problem? I didn’t have a matching dress to go along with it ! That’s not a problem you say? Well, IT WAS ! As a photographer, I know the importance of coordinating your clothes for a family, group picture. It doesn’t have to be the same colour but there needs to be colour blocking or some sort of a visual co ordination which is very easy to do with colour.
PRO TIP: If you don’t have a professional photographer shooting your pictures or events, make them stand out by colour coordinating your clothes. Even if you don’t choose the same colour, pick from the same family of colours or a palette to look like a family that belongs together. Make it dummy proof !
I had two options – a grey or a peach. I searched for a dress in the online shopping universe but it was almost impossible to get a subtle yet dressy outfit that would be perfect. To top that, I couldn’t wear a dressier outfit than little Mi as it was HER BIG DAY !!
How I found my perfect dress
It was the week before her birthday that I chanced upon House of Indya ( www.houseofindya.com ), a modern boutique collection website that had exactly the tasteful clothes that I had been looking for and voila, there it was – the perfect grey(t) dress staring at me ! I quickly added it to cart, made the payment and ordered it, all in a jiffy (hoping that it would reach me in time). You know unreliable the deliveries can be when shopping online.
Who would know this better than me? I run a small fashion online store on fb myself, more about that i some other post. And believe me, I went crazy trying to source the perfect grey dress myself.
House Of Indya shipped the dress the next day and it was on my doorstep on the morning of Mi’s birthday. And it fit perfectly. The fabric was light and glamourous and I loved the side criss cross pattern that lent an oomph to the otherwise simple handkerchief silhouette. It also works wonders if you’re in between sizes like me 🙂
Thankyou House Of Indya

So as a token of thanks to House of Indya, I decided to take some pictures of me in my perfect grey dress. This was the Outfit of the Day (#OOTD) that had me twinning with my little baby on her second birthday !
Hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I enjoyed wearing the dress. If you have not heard about House Of Indya, go check out their collection here.
