I discovered the ‘Cereal Killer’ by the startup CocoSutra at the Sunday Soul Sante in Bangalore this weekend. The flavours were very experimental and I thought of trying it out for breakfast.

The flavours available were Millet Mocha Crunch, Chaat Culture (Savory with tomato flavour), Tropical Sunshine and Peanut Butter Chocolate Chunk. I was quite kicked about the Mocha Crunch as I love everything ‘Coffee’ but after sampling all the flavours I decided to get the peanut butter chocolate chunk flavour which actually has Chocolate Chunks in it. I did not like the Chaat Culture flavour at all and couldn’t imagine having it with milk. Some people might like it with yogurt.

The peanut butter chocolate chunk flavour has Crunchy clusters of golden oats baked with honey and warm spices. 35% of the cereal has roasted peanuts, peanut butter, flax seeds, melon seeds, golden raisins and chunks of dark chocolate.

Price: Rs. 250 for 300 grams.

The pack says it is high in fibre with no hydrogenated oils, zero added trans fat, zero cholesterol, ingredients used are natural with no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.

My Review:

I am not a fan of the traditional breakfast cereals like oats, cornflakes, wheat flakes or even muesli. The latter being something I can have occasionally for health purposes. But I absolutely loved the Chocolate Granola Breakfast Cereal from Cereal Killer. This ‘Cereal Killer’ definitely killed all of its competition. I did a quick search online to find out if it is available on any of the online stores and was glad to know that BigBasket.com stocks it. You can purchase it here. But it’s not available in Delhi or any other city so this one goes on my Bangalore shopping list.

cereal-killer-granola-chocolate-sunday-soul-sante-bangaloreIt is a wholesome sinless breakfast cereal that you can have with chilled milk or yogurt, whatever you prefer and the best part is the chocolate chunk ! I like the whole crunchy nuts in it as well.

Rs 250 for a pack of granola that lasts me 5-6 servings, is a bit much. But I’m sure the price will come down once the company scales up.

So next time you find it at a stall in Bangalore or online, just grab a bag !
